Wedding dresses, close to home

The Summer Collection is thirty-five made-to-order gowns from four European houses, every one chosen by Jenya, whose eye was trained at Louis Vuitton and Swarovski. These are wedding dresses in Kitchener proper — one appointment-only atelier at 357 King Street East, minutes from home for brides shopping for wedding dresses in Waterloo and Cambridge.

Four houses, one rail

Katy Corso, Anna Sposa, Elena Morar and Oliver Martino each cut a different mood — sculpted crepe, soft romantic lace, couture detail you can hold up to the light. European wedding dresses like these aren’t on every rack in Ontario. They’re the bridal dresses Kitchener didn’t use to have. Meet the houses on our designers page. If you’re planning the day itself, our guide to wedding dress shopping in Kitchener–Waterloo walks it hour by hour.

From A-line to mermaid

Shape is personal, so the rail runs wide — from a floating A-line wedding dress to sheath, ball gown and mermaid lines, in crepe, lace, tulle and mikado. Try-on samples run 6–12. The gown you order is sewn to your measurements in sizes 0–30, and many designs can be adjusted before cutting: sleeves added, a neckline raised, a fabric swapped. Bring the idea and the appointment will test it against you, not a chart.

What a gown here costs

Wedding dress prices at Vona are published — you never have to ask. Most gowns sit between $1,200 and $2,000, and the full range runs $900 to $3,000. Affordable wedding dresses aren’t a compromise here. Dresses under $2,000 make up the bulk of the collection.

Is $1,200 a good budget for a wedding dress?

Yes. At Vona, $1,200 is where the most-common band begins, not the bare minimum. For scale, The Knot’s 2026 Real Weddings Study puts the average dress at about $2,100 USD, with common tiers near $1,200, $2,000 and $3,200. Here, $1,200 opens real made-to-order choice rather than a single shelf.

The sample sale: the right dress, right now

Sample sale wedding dresses are the one clearly-marked exception — floor samples in sizes 6–12, off the rack at 50% off, for the bride whose date won’t wait. And the mechanics, said plainly. Made-to-order gowns are paid in full when you order, and every sale is final. The full policies are in our FAQ.

Your hour at the atelier

A wedding dress appointment at Vona is private, free and about an hour long. It starts as a conversation rather than a rack: your date and venue, the season, your real budget, the feeling you’re chasing. Then the trying-on begins, unhurried.

How the try-on works

A wedding dress try-on here is guided from start to finish. Your stylist pulls gowns from that conversation, helps you into each one, clips it to your shape and completes the look, so the mirror shows the dress, not a loose sample. Bring up to five guests. If you need time, nothing is pushed — we note your favourites and leave the door open.

Why we’re appointment-only

Appointment-only sounds formal. In practice it means your hour is yours — between visits the room is empty and the next bride gets the same quiet you did. There’s no charge and no obligation at any point. When you’re ready to meet these wedding gowns in Kitchener in person, book your appointment.

Made to order, month by month

Start looking eight to twelve months before your date. Say yes and order by about eight months out. Measurements are taken then. The designer’s atelier sews the gown in three to five months, quicker than the six to nine most brides are quoted, and fittings land two to three months before the day.

Fit, designed in

A made-to-order gown is cut to the measurements taken at your ordering appointment, in any size from 0 to 30. Fit is designed in from the first stitch. The final wedding dress fitting settles the last details, and if anything needs adjusting after that, we’ll refer you to our Preferred Seamstress.

If your date is close

Under about four months, made to order stops being honest, so we won’t promise it — we’ll point you to the sample rail instead, off the rack, ready now. Our note on when to start wedding dress shopping breaks the year down. Or contact us with your date and we’ll tell you straight what it allows.
